Datuk Kuthubul Zaman Bukhari has held various positions in the Malaysian Bar and the Bar Council. He was the Secretary from 2000 to 2002, the Vice President from 2002 to 2003 and the President of the Malaysian Bar and Chairman of the Bar Council from 2003 to 2005. Kuthubul Zaman Bukhari also heads the Bar Council’s Arbitration & Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. He chaired the Arbitration Committee that was involved in the initial drafting of the new Arbitration Act which formed the basis of the new Arbitration Act 2005. Kuthubul Zaman Bukhari was appointed to sit on the Royal Commission to Enhance the Operation and Management of the Royal Malaysian Police on 4.2.2004
