Dr Terence Ong (MBChB MRes PhD FRCP AM) is an Associate Professor and Consultant Geriatrician at Universiti Malaya and Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. He completed his clinical and research training at Nottingham University Hospitals and the University of Nottingham. He is a current Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, member of the Academy of Medicine Malaysia, and holds committee roles in the Malaysia Society of Geriatric Medicine, Malaysian Osteoporosis Society and the Fragility Fracture Network. He also serves on the editorial board of Age and Ageing and BMC Geriatrics. Dr Ong’s clinical academic interests are in musculoskeletal health and geriatric liaison services. He currently leads the Virtual Ward programme at UMMC. He is deeply committed to advancing better care for older adults, and actively seek to collaborate with likeminded changemakers—especially in shaping policy and strengthening legal frameworks that uphold dignity, equity, and innovation in ageing.
